He is survived by: his wife Martha J. Mulligan Kauffeld; his children, Mary Kauffeld Potts Potts (Steve) of Madison, AL and James E. Kauffeld, Jr. (Karen Bruns) of Indianapolis, IN; his grandchildren, Caitlin Elizabeth Potts, Margaret Rose Kauffeld and Emma Corin Kauffeld; and his siblings, George Kauffeld, Mary Ann Grant and Leo (Joanne). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
