He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" and Margaret Ann Hamilton Wimsatt; and his brother Raymond Wimsatt. He is survived by: his children, Kim Skluzacek (Mike) of Kansas City, Dawn Spencer (Randy) of Owensboro, Greg Wimsatt (Vickie) of Owensboro and Eric Wimsatt of Clarksville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Summer Woolard (Robin), Jamie Davis, Brad Skluzacek (Laura), Sara Skluzacek, Alisa Reeves (Josh), Haley Eitel (Logan), Michelle Spencer and Taylor Collins (T. C.); his wife Annette May Wimsatt; and his brother David Wimsatt (Mary) of Knottsville. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
