He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Dickens; his daughter Carol Lynn Dickens; and his sister Barbara Sue Dickens (Tony Dickens). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Aud Dickens; his children, James Dickens Jr. (Charlotte), Karen Dale Martin (Mike), Janice Faye Johnson (Don), Joyce Kaye Knight (Scott) and Kelly Ann Boyens (Denny); and his siblings, Terry Joe Dickens (Myrle), Jack R. Dickens (Debbie), Gail Martin (Mike) and Jean Hall. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.
