He is survived by: his wife Kay Basham Tinnell; his children, Sarah Williamson (Tim), David Tinnell and Matthew Tinnell; his grandchildren, Elijah, Caleb, Hannah and Jacob; and his siblings, J. C. Tinnell (Mary) and Mary James. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
