He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Sturgeon, Sr. and Carrie Ellen Gines Sturgeon; and his siblings, Harold Sturgeon, David "Pete" Sturgeon, Kenneth Mac Sturgeon, Mary Margaret Sturgeon, Lou Alice Finley and Carolyn Sue Sturgeon.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Shawn Sturgeon, Shannan Sturgeon, Nick Sturgeon (Heather) of Indianapolis, IN and Anthony Sturgeon (Kandace); his brother Wayne Sturgeon of Cloverport; and his grandchildren, Dallas, Autumn, Jada (Bailey), Kayla, McKenna and Oakley.
