It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude Fitzhugh of Owensboro, Kentucky, born in Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on December 29, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Elbert Lee Mortimore; and her sister Rose Drexel. She is survived by: her husband Jim Fitzhugh; her children, Dr. David L. Fitzhugh of Plano, TX, Patricia Ann Fitzhugh of Lake Worth, FL, Sandra Conley (David) of Cumming, GA, Amy Rymer (Joe) of Nashville, TN and Leanne Payne (Steve) of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Ashlee Veit (Andy), Alison Huggins (Colt), Meaghan Stranix (Chris), Courtney Rymer, Jimmy Conley (Marla), Kendall Payne and Mason Payne; and her great grandchildren, Louise, Conley Veit, Evy, JJ Stranix, Wesson, Lani Grace, Lawson Huggins, Murphy and Myers Conley.
