He was predeceased by: his parents, Milford Saunders and Rocena Wilson Saunders. He is survived by: his wife Olivia; his children, Gerald Jr. (Gerry), Kendra J. and Kevin B. Saunders; his grandchildren, Madison, Gerald III (Trey), Ava and Noah; his daughters-in-law, Rebecca and Jennifer Saunders; and his son Gerry.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory (900 Old Hartford Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Rosehill Cemetery (1300 Old Hartford Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303).
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Saunders Science Scholarship Fund at Owensboro High School or Settle Memorial United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
