He was predeceased by: his father Walter Best; and his siblings, Lena Lovan, Miriam Rouse, Dorothy Berry, Helen Leib, Ed and Mick Best.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Whobrey Best; his children, Kathy Austin (Dwight) of Bowling Green, Kim Swift (Steve) of Owensboro and Mike Best (Janet) of Bowling Green; his grandchildren, Katie Lea Cassetty, Leslie Decker (Brad), Miles Austin, Sam Swift (Sarah), Chris Swift (Lauren), Annie Drury (Jon), Ethan Best, Mason Best and Gavin Best; and his siblings, Jean Ann Griffin, Richard Best and Jerry Best. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
