He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Wright and Ruthie Thompson Wright; his wife Mary Kathryn Jones Wright; and his siblings, Ernestine Vincent, Earlene Brock, Ruby Brown, Inez Gossett, L. V. Wright and T. C. Wright.

He is survived by: his daughters, Sue Cavin (Dale) of Rosehill, VA and Judy Zachary (David) of Owensboro; his brother Bobby Ray Wright; and his grandchildren, Melissa Coffey, Jonathan Cavin, Rachel Rice and Christopher Zachary. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
