He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Massie and Monnie Carman Massie; his wife Geraldine G. Massie; his grandson Casey Mercer; his siblings, Louis Massie, Joe Massie, Billy Massie and Helen Fleming; and his son-in-law Larry Mercer.
He is survived by: his children, Debby Mercer, Steve Massie (Penny), Sharon Boarman (Leon), Karen Shelton (Roddie), Pam Evans (Onis) and Tom Massie. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
