He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Rowan and Daisey Readers Rowan; his wife Georgia Ann Hayden Rowan; his children, Ellis Rowan, Jr., William Everett Rowan, Richard Lawrence Rowan, Katherine Rowan, Anna Marie Rowan and Thelma Bernice Rowan; and his siblings, Anna Mae Wickliffe, James Rowan, Bub Rowan, Ebb Rowan, Bernice Wickliffe, Leo Rowan and Harold Rowan.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Raye Rowan, Patricia Ann Mays, Brenda Rowan Duneghy, Cynthia Duneghy and Angela Webb; and his granddaughter Anna Duneghy. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
