He is survived by: his children, Kim Gard Simmons of Owensboro, Pamela Gard Oldham of Owensboro, Renee Gard King of Owensboro and Greg Gard of Owensboro; his grandchildren, Amanda Reffitt (Nathan) of Owensboro, Matthew Simmons of Owensboro, Bryson Gard of Owensboro, Janson Gard of Owensboro, Nick Oldham of Owensboro, Chloe King of Owensboro and Drew Nelson-Gard (Chris) of Louisville; his great grandchildren, Landon, Luke, Kolbe, Olivia and Gianna Reffitt of Owensboro; and his sister Kay Carter of Boonville, IN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
