He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Shiver and Anna Frances Shiver; his wife Virginia Ruth Shiver; and his son Keith Edward Shiver. He is survived by: his daughter Kim Newton; his son-in-law Sylvester Newton; his grandsons, Chase Newton and Travis Newton; his granddaughters-in-law, Stephanie Newton and Jennifer Newton; his stepgrandsons, Devin Newton and Clinton Newton; and his great grandchildren, Ella Newton, Kate Newton, Eli Newton and Easton Newton.
