He was predeceased by: his parents, Newell Justin and Mary Bernice Hardesty Hood; his brothers, Robert N. Hood, Gerald Ray Hood and Charles Harry Hood; his sister-in-law Connie Simon Hood; and his daughter-in-law Janet Kaye Whelan Hood.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Russellburg Hood; his children, Tom Hood (Caroline) of McKinney, Texas and Darla French (Jim) of Bowling Green; his grandchildren, Jarrod, Justin, Theresa, Alexandra Hood, Rachel Lundy (James), Nick French (Sara) and John Thomas French; his siblings, Jackie Cecil, Doug Hood (Dorothy), Sandy Mayfield, Sheila Head, Linda Hagan, Norma Fulkerson (Eddie) and Debbie Murphy (Larry); his sisters-in-law, Celeste Hood and Judy Hood; and his aunt Geraldine Jarnigan.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church (609 E 4th St, Owensboro, KY 42303). A burial was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Resurrection Cemetery (1925 W 3rd St, Owensboro, KY 42301).
