He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennie Dowell and Cathleen Dowell; his wife Nancy Dowell; and his siblings, Helen Burden, Virginia Vance and Franklin Dowell.
He is survived by: his pet Stack; his children, Katherine Shelton, Teresa Hodskins Dowell (Steve), Dennie Dowell, Curtis Dowell and William James; and his stepdaughters, Judith Shouse, Jennifer Shouse and Stephanie Shouse. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
