He is survived by: his wife Shirley Langley Spalding; his children, Lesley Spalding McCarthy (Stephen) of Owensboro and Nick Spalding (Brent Berneking) of Indianapolis; his granddaughters, Catherine Elizabeth McCarthy of Owensboro and Hannah June McCarthy of Owensboro; his sisters, Connie Hayden (Jim) of Owensboro and Sara Wathen (Joe) of Owensboro; his sister-in-law Sharon Gillim of Owensboro; and his pets, Teddy and Patches.
