She was predeceased by: her parents, Guthrie Chappell and Georgia Hillard Chappell; her husband Thomas Hockenberry; her sister Sandy Chappell; and her niece Dreama Baird.

She is survived by: her daughter Santana Mattingly (Brandon) of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Owen and Brayden; and her siblings, Larry Chappell (Linda) of Owensboro, Bruce Chappell of Owensboro and Vickie Schmid (Joe) of Stanley, KY.
