He was predeceased by: his parents, James Earl "Babe" Boyd and Ruth Frances Walker Boyd; his wife Suzanne Barnett Boyd of Central City, Kentucky.; and his brothers, Jim Boyd, David Boyd and Robert Boyd.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Allen, Carl W. Boyd (Chris) and Janet Boyd; and his brothers, Donald Boyd and Ronald Boyd. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
