She is survived by: her children, Monroe Griffith Jr. (Sue), William "Med" Griffith (Maxine), Byron Griffith and Anita Griffith; her grandchildren, Denise Griffith, Monroe Griffith III (Janice), Ricardo Simmons (Diane), Marvin Daniel Griffith (Zenia), Joyce Griffith, Mark Griffith, Keith Griffith and Marshall Griffith (Cherry); and her close friends, Magelean Leachman and Merdis Jones. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
