He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery McDonald, Sr. and Stella Vanover McDonald; and his brothers, Bobby McDonald, Norman McDonald and Carlos McDonald.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Howard McDonald; his children, Chris McDonald (Sandra), Mark McDonald (Julie) and Dana McDonald Bernard; and his sister Jane Payne (Danny). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
