He was predeceased by: his father Claude Hamilton. He is survived by: his wife Lillian; his children, Sandy Baker (Victor), Kim Bryant (Tony), Dale Hamilton, Terry Hamilton and Randy Hamilton (Laura); his stepchildren, Carolyn Abel (Gene), Roy Cottrell (Vickie) and Keith Cottrell (Linda); and his siblings, Wallace Hamilton (Carolyn), Frankie Hamilton (Ellen), Claude Hamilton (Janice), Gene Hamilton (Brenda), Sue Rohrscheib (Larry) and Linda Howard (Johnny). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
