He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert D. Hurm and Corine A. Ralph Hurm; and his sisters, Martha Rysdyk, Esther Craig and Elizabeth Ann.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Hurm; his children, Sheila McCollam of Owensboro, Randy Hurm (Lesa) of Owensboro, Wayne Hurm of Owensboro and Becky Dunn (Curtis) of Evansville; and his siblings, Barbara Schell of Owensboro, Ella Meyer of Owensboro and Hubert D. Hurm of Owensboro. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren.
