He was predeceased by: his former wife Betty; his son Phillip K. Shain; and his siblings, Frances Irene Shain, Helen L. Gillaspie, Bill Shain and James Shain.
He is survived by: his spouse Sylvia "Janie" Shain; his son Andrew G. Shain, Jr. of Valparaiso, IN; his stepsons, Christopher Ayers of Virginia and Daniel Ayers of Indiana; his granddaughter Tiffanie McCall; and his siblings, Alton L. Shain of Owensboro and Zona Bandy of Owensboro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
