She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Helm and Alice McKinley Helm; her husband Chester Carter; and her siblings, Jimmy Helm, Nancy Huff and Betty Baughn.
She is survived by: her children, Morris Carter (Paulette), Larry Carter (Shirley) and Jeanne Kirk (Larry); and her siblings, Bobby Helm, Tommy Helm (Yvonne), Deanie Cook (Bob) and Becky Benningfield (Neal). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
