He was predeceased by: his parents, Omer Culton and Ona Culton (Hall). He is survived by: his siblings, Randel (Susan Culton) and Zella Broadus of Berea; his former wife Mary Carpenter Culton; his wife Cynthia Cameron Culton; his brothers, Luther, Mason and Robert Culton; his son Clayton Culton; and his brother-in-law James Broadus.
