He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Burns and Elizabeth Baker Burns; his son Lewis Burns, Jr.; and his siblings, Coy Burns, Cecil Burns, Frank Stormy Burns, Paul Burns and Oma Combs.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Byrd Burns; his daughter Stephanie Jarvis (Gerbal) of Manchester; his sister Gail Young (Robert) of Hindman; his grandchildren, Ashton Jarvis and Kayla Bowling; and his great grandchildren, Carter Hall and Finley Estep. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to made to WLJC Hour of Harvest, P.O. Box Y, Beattyville, KY 41311.
