He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Burns and Myrtle Baker Burns; his wife Debra Webb Burns; his son Timmy Burns; his siblings, Joan Gay and Larry Burns; and his father-in-law Elmer Webb.

He is survived by: his daughter Tammy Burns (Chris); his brother Freddie Wayne Burns; his grandchildren, Abigail Bowling and Jacob Bowling; and his mother-in-law Drucie Gay Webb of Sizerock. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
