He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Porter and Edna Mabry Porter; and his siblings, Burl, Howard, Billy Wayne, Jackie, Ralph Porter and Virginia Swanigan.
He is survived by: his wife Ottie Faye Henderson Porter; his children, Michael G. Porter (Brenda) of Carter County, Lowell H. Porter (Vicky) of Morehead, Linda Porter Mabry of Olive Hill and Brenda Porter Holbrook of Olive Hill; and his siblings, Roy D. Porter of Olive Hill, Danny Ray Porter of Grayson, Catherine Bradley of Dry Branch, Ruth Ann Brown of Ashland and Edith Fyffe of Campton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
