He is survived by: his wife Evelene Stapleton McCarty; his children, Jimmie Leon McCarty of Oil Springs, KY, Ruby Darlene Pennington of Ashland, KY and Dorothy Carlene Mick of Chester, VA; his grandchildren, Kristie, Joey, Benji, Heather, Jonathan, Jennifer, Thomas, Ashley and Jason; and his great grandchildren, Kayley, Isaac, Ruby, Tucker, Levi, Ian, Leah, Parker, Gage and Emery.
