He was predeceased by: his father Charles "Sand Rock" Smith; and his brothers, Elmo Smith, Johnny and Joe Smith. He is survived by: his wife Lee Ann Smith (Clark); his son Cody Smith (Alyssa) of Greenville; his grandchildren, Chase and Decklan Smith; and his siblings, Billy Smith (Shelia) of St. Charles and Sandra Hall (Charles) of Hanson.
