He was predeceased by: his parents, Nina Williams Rhye and Rossie Lee Rhye; his siblings, Ross Junior Rhye, John Henry "Ramous" Rhye, Gennie Rhye and Janet Slaton; and his grandchildren, Samuel Britt and Naomi Britt.
He is survived by: his wife Caria McGregor Rhye of Nortonville, KY; his children, Jeff Rhye of Nortonville, Andrew Rhye (Frances) of White Plains, KY, Cynthia Britt (Donald) of Nortonville and Margie Wagoner (Jammie) of Crofton, KY; and his sister Jona Knapp of Madisonville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
