It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Connie Jean McKenzie Scarberry (Paintsville, Kentucky), who passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edna Earl Griffith McKenzie and Ervin Wade McKenzie; her siblings-in-law, Ernest Ray Scarberry, Harold Jean Hall and Shirley Scarberry; and her aunt Shellie Griffith.
She is survived by: her daughter Christa Lynn Scarberry Kelly of Georgetown; her son-in-law Jesse Kelly; her grandson Luke Allen Kelly of Georgetown; her sisters, Carolyn Keeton (Paul) of West Liberty and Cathy Hall of Staffordsville; her niece Gina Hall Holbrook (Bill) of Paintsville; her nephews, John Franklin Crum (Tonya) of Nicholasville, Timothy Keeton (Lorelei) of West Liberty, Matthew Keeton (Rita) and Aaron Keeton (Tiffany) of West Liberty; and her sisters-in-law, Joann Meek (Whitey) of Nippa and Sandra Crum (Frankie) of Richmond. She is also survived by great nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Tom's Creek Freewill Baptist Church (81 Church Dr, Nippa, KY 41274). A burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at the Scarberry Cemetery (110 Whippoorwill Rd, Nippa, KY 41240).
