He was predeceased by: his siblings, Luther Burks, Bud Burks, Bill Burks, Marvin Burks, Charles Burks, Richard Burks and Nancy Castle.
He is survived by: his wife Margie Castle Burks; his sons, Willie Burks (Crystal) of Paintsville and Jakie Burks; his siblings, Ellis Burks (Ruby) of Nippa, Kentucky, Julie Faye Castle (Arthur) of Nippa, Della May Ratliff of Barnetts Creek and Wanita Burks of Ohio; and his granddaughter Isabella Burks. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home (807 S Mayo Trail, Paintsville, KY 41240). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel (807 S Mayo Trail, Paintsville, KY 41240). A burial was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at the Castle Family Cemetery.
