He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Shelton and Stattie Disponette Shelton; and his daughters, Carol Sue Caldwell, Robin Shelton and Sherry Lynn Mitchell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia Ann "Pat" Hammond (Mike) and Donna Jean Barnett; his son-in-law John Caldwell; his grandchildren, Angie Davis, Misty Chapman, Mike Hammond, Tara Wyman (Tommy), Chad Hammond (Tammy), Heath Shelton (Christina) and Justin Cheek; his nieces, Charlotte Barron and Pam Salley; and his close friend Darlene "Bosey" Lujan. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
