He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Robert Cowan and Nellie Maude Cowan (Shafer); and his wife Elizabeth Ann Prestsater. He is survived by: his family Jerry; his sons, Greg Cowan (Paula) and David Cowan; his grandchildren, Katie Burdette (Grant), Joseph Cowan, Connor Cowan, Zachary Cowan and Samanatha Cowan; his great grandchild Lincoln Burdette; his siblings, John Cowan (Janice) and Jan Cowan (Rick); and his niece Danielle Cowan.
