He was predeceased by: his parents, Jones Coy Dowdy and Frances Hamel Dowdy; his son Paul Michael Dowdy, Jr.; his sisters, Janice Dowdy and Claire Murphy; and his grandchildren, Hunter Dowdy and Logan Dowdy.
He is survived by: his son Chris Dowdy (Brooke); his siblings, Mark Dowdy, Martin Dowdy, Michael Dowdy and Gail Seeling; and his grandchildren, Brayden Gray and Arabella Gray. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
