He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Leroy Campbell Sr. and Goldie Martha Peppard Campbell; and his brothers, Virgil Leroy Campbell Jr., Donald Campbell and Ronald Campbell.

He is survived by: his sister Linda Brents (Phil); his children, Chris Campbell (Dixie), Hope Campbell and Rachelle Campbell; his grandchildren, Hannah Campbell, Danyal Campbell, Jacob Drena, Brandon Plotts and Stirling Campbell; and his great grandchildren, Harper Campbell, Landon Plotts and Levi Plotts.
