Mahala Jean Baker Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mahala Jean Baker (Nicholasville, Kentucky), who passed away on February 6, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Fugate and Edna Henson Fugate; her husband Hiram Baker; her sisters, Eva Mae Spencer, Lula Combs, Hazel Cooper and Nora Faye Merrill (Jimmy); her son-in-law Johnny Watts; and her grandson Ben Stidham.
She is survived by: her daughters, Vonda Watts and Charlene Stidham (Kenneth); her grandsons, Kenny Stidham (Amy), Brad Stidham (Tanaya) and Johnny Watts Jr. (Katrina); her great grandchildren, Christian Stidham (Amber), Hunter Stidham, Sydney Stidham, Tanner Watts, Connor Watts and Harmony Watts; her great great grandchild Nolan Stidham; her sister-in-law Wanda Fugate; and her nephews, Jeff Fugate, Chris Fugate and David Fugate.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Gospel Light Baptist Church (100 Independence Dr, Hazard, KY 41701).
In lieu of flowers, family request donations to Clays Mill Christian Academy or Gospel Light Youth Ministries.
