He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ricka Kelsay Palmisano; his son John Julian Palmisano; his parents, Pam Palmisano and Larry Palmisano; his brothers, Steve and Tim; his siblings-in-law, Matt and Sue; and his nieces and nephews, Reece, Sloan, Katie, Anna, McKenzie, Noah, Jaret and Kody.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to organizations that were important to John: Hospice of the Bluegrass, University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center, Shriners or Lexington Humane Society.
