He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Teater and Alline Durham Teater; his sons, David Allen Teater and John Edward Teater; his sister Naomi Ruth Majors; and his son-in-law Steve Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jackie Puckett (Buddy) and Sandra Smith; and his siblings, Lester Teater, Darrell Teater (Arlene), James Teater (Mary), Donald Teater (Pauline), Albert Teater (Cheri), Doris McVey and Marjorie June Richards (Robert). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
