He was predeceased by: his close friend Gary Key; his parents, Willis Granville Hackney and Madge Eversole Hackney; and his siblings, Richard Hackney and Harriet McClain.
He is survived by: his sisters, Shelby Perkins of Vero Beach, Fla. and Helen Pope of Lexington.
