He was predeceased by: his parents, John VanDemark and Anna VanDemark (Lloyd); his aunt Margaret Lloyd Renner; his brother-in-law Gene Morris; and his cousin Eva Kinstle.
He is survived by: his sons, Derek John VanDemark (Heather) of Lexington and Rhys VanDemark (Kathleen McGookey) of Middleville, Michigan; his grandchildren, Derek, Reeve, Charlie and Lucy Anna VanDemark; his sister Helen Morris of Elida; his nephew Dr. Dennis Morris of Lima; his niece Beth Patton (Steve) of Columbus; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Meredith (Michael), Brink and Aaron Patton of Columbus; his friend Far (Danish); and his uncle Van.
