He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Adams and Alexuis Adams; his wife Vivian Adams; his daughter Norma Adams; and his grandsons, C. J. Mullins and Jonathan Bartlett.
He is survived by: his children, Don Allen Adams, James Adams (Kimberly), Ronnie Adams, John Adams, Dougie Adams, Clifton Adams, Debbie Davis (David), Donna Adams, Lynn Alexander, Dorothy Brown and Jackie Keltner. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
