He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Grubbs and Gertie Peyton Grubbs. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth E. Grubbs; his son James Robert Grubbs (Christine) of Burlington; his brother Carlos Lee Grubbs (Linda) of Lexington; and his nephew Kenneth Grubbs (Karyn) of Lexington.
