He was predeceased by: his parents, Park Vanderpool and Agatha Lairson Vanderpool; his daughter Susan Gail Vanderpool; and his siblings, Letcher Vanderpool, Alford Vanderpool, Herman Vanderpool, Myrtle Smith and Eula Vanderpool.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Justin Vanderpool (April) and Jason Vanderpool; his great grandchildren, Savannah Vanderpool and Mackenzie Vanderpool; and his brothers, Earl Vanderpool, James Vanderpool (Jim) and Denzil Allen Vanderpool (Rita Banks).
