He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Spinks and Dorothy Spinks Jr.; and his sister Cindy Woods (Boswell). He is survived by: his siblings, Chuck Spinks (Connie), Brian Spinks and Julie Horan (Marty); his nieces and nephews, Bill Johnson (Angie), Charles Spinks (Catherine), Andrew Spinks (Amy), Monica Gumz (Aaron) and Natalie Morgan (Ryan); and his friends, Lynn Deaton and Curt Hatfield. He is also survived by 17 great-nephews and great-nieces, several cousins.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Dany Thomas Pl.
