Prater of Newport, Kentucky, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, who passed away on December 28, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Barger and Maudie Marie Smith Barger; her siblings, Viola Ooten, Verna Mae Chaffin, Donald Barger and Lloyd Glenn Barger; and her daughters, Phyllis Prater Benion and Rose Mary Prater Hamblin.
She is survived by: her son Edward Lee Prater; her grandchildren, Eddie Kendall, Jimmy Prater and Jason Prater; and her great grandchildren, Jacob, Jonathan, Cloe and Jessie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Don Catchen and Son Funeral Homes (3525 Dixie Hwy, Elsmere, KY 41018). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
