He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward Bartmess, Sr. and Harriet Smith. He is survived by: his brothers, John Ed Bartmess, Jr. (Carol) and Andrew Bartmess (Karen); and his nieces, Julie Hedge (Rudi), Elizabeth Bartmess (Michael Cohn), Bethany Schultz (Bradley) and Katherine Bartmess.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to any local pet adoption agency.
