He was predeceased by: his wife Becky; his parents, Oliver Alford and Gladys Alford (Tarvin); his wife Rebecca Alford (Bowles); and his grandson Brandon Alford.
He is survived by: his sons, Howard Jr. (Cory), Michael (Angie) and Sean Alford (Laura); his sisters, Arlene Buchanan and Lana Barr (Don); and his grandchildren, Michael (Tiffany), Chris Miller (Jessica), Nathan (Courtney), Jessica, Travis, Emily Rachford (Andrew), Amanda Alkurdi (Mohammed), Trevor, Jadyn, Noah and Beca Alford. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
