He was predeceased by: his wife Loretta Grebe Schroer; his parents, John Schroer and Hilda Schroer (Heidt); and his brothers, Paul, John and Edward Schroer.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Thomas (Gary) and Steven Schroer (Margot); his grandchildren, Brian Thomas (Morgan Busam), Tyler, Austin, Oliver and Madeline Schroer; his great grandchild Payton Riley Thomas; his sisters, Mary Schroer and Joan Kaufhold (Larry); and his friend Mona Gallo.
